Song of the spirits over the waters
Basler Madrigalisten
Raphael Immoos, conductor
Program: Beethoven - Schubert - Schumann - Mendelssohn - Brahms
Wolfgang von Goethe traveled to Switzerland several times. He was inspired by the famous natural wonder of the Staubbach stream in the Lauterbrunnen Valley and wrote the famous poem "Gesang der Geister über den Wassern" in 1779. His poems were extremely popular with composers, and some even became well-known folk songs. The professional vocal ensemble of the Basler Madrigalisten will take you on a musical journey with sonorous Goethe settings.
