The Irvin Cimbalom Band is a group dedicated to the folk music of the Moravian-Slovak border region, but also exploits the spectacular modalities and rhythms of the Hungarian and Romanian regions. As in jazz, improvisation is part of the performance. The individual musicians play in various formations of this genre.
The formation performing today consists of musicians who have often played together in various places in Europe and on other continents and will hopefully continue to do so in the future. They are mainly involved in folk music, but can also be found in the classical field, as well as in their own interpretations of jazz and rock compositions. The songs that are sung include themes of human life - such as mourning, work, love, but also happy drinking.
