A warm welcome

The Mendelssohn Music Week Wengen is once again offering a master class in the magnificent landscape of the Bernese Oberland, at the foot of the Jungfrau, which was founded by a legacy from long-time vacation guest Margarita Minder.

The course is aimed at students and young students. Instrumentalists with a solo program as well as existing ensembles can take part. During the master class, students can gain valuable impulses from the wealth of experience of the three lecturers. The lessons are open to all participants for listening.

Course content

  • Playing technique, interpretation of works, sense of style
  • Deepening and further development of existing experience
  • Teaching basic techniques for rehearsing in an ensemble
  • Encouragement to play chamber music
  • Inspiration for new goals

The course begins on August 13, 2024 and ends on August 18, 2024 at 11:15 a.m. with a public final matinee of the participants, the Margarita Minder Concert.

Timetable
Arrival: Monday, August 12, 2024; Departure: Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Lessons: Tuesday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday only in the morning.
Free admission for course participants to the opening concert of the festival with the Guarneri Trio Prague on August 17, 2024 at 5.30 p.m.

Course fee
CHF 350.- individual registration, CHF 250.- ensemble lessons per person.
Plus: CHF 750.- for 6 nights with half board for students in a shared room.
Practice rooms and pianos are available.
