Opening Concert
Jan Mráček, Violin / Lukáš Klánský, Piano Winner of the 2014 Fritz Kreisler Competition
The opening concert will feature violinist Jan Mráček, first-prize winner of the 2014 Fritz Kreisler Competition, performing alongside Lukáš Klánský on piano. The two musicians have been collaborating closely both domestically and internationally since 2008. The performances of these two artists are characterized by a lightness and a deeply emotional interpretation of the music.
Piano Recital
Tamar Beraia, Piano
The Bern-based Georgian-Swiss pianist Tamar Beraia, winner of several international awards, presents a piano performance full of power, musicality, and virtuosity. She has already performed very successfully at the Mendelssohn Music Week several years ago.
Cembalo Duo
Melanie & Sergio Flores, Harpsichord
The intuitive mutual understanding between siblings Melanie and Sergio Flores makes every performance a fascinating event full of surprises. The duo began their musical journey with violin and piano lessons in Mexico City before switching to the harpsichord at ages 7 and 8, respectively. Both completed their studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under Jörg-Andreas Bötticher and Andrea Marcon. Together, they have explored the repertoire for two harpsichords, which includes more than 500 compositions. These works, along with their own arrangements of Mexican music, enrich their repertoire for two harpsichords.

Cello Republic Petr Špaček, cello Jan Zemen, cello Matěj Štěpánek, cello Ivan Vokáč, cello A unique quartet dedicated to popularizing classical music. The Amaryllis Quartet, winner of several international awards, ranks among the most interesting string quartets of its generation thanks to its gripping and expressive interpretations. The quartet completed its early studies with Walter Levin in Basel, later with the Alban Berg Quartet in Cologne and with Günter Pichler in Madrid. In 2012, the quartet was awarded the ECHO Klassik for its CD “White,” featuring works by Haydn and Webern.

Sao Soulez Larivière is rapidly building a flourishing career as a versatile violist. He captivates audiences with his playing and his original programming, and strives to broaden the accessibility and perception of classical music. A series of recent competition successes has propelled his international career; he won first prize at the Prague Spring International Competition as well as top prizes at the Tokyo, Oskar Nedbal, Max Rostal, Cecil Aronowitz, and Johannes Brahms competitions.
